Christmas lights

It seems like this is the thing to do with your baby this year, take pictures with Christmas lights and ornaments.  So I thought I'd give it a try.  I actually took my camera out of auto and tried to see what I could do.  They aren't great, but they will do:)

After I took these,  I read that Christmas lights can be poisonous....Oops :(

I'm sure ornaments aren't good either.  But really, this lasted all of 2 minutes.

She was so funny with this hat!

Love this one

Continue on

This was in a card my mother in law gave me last week.  I thought it may be encouraging to some moms, like it it was for me.

A woman once fretted over the usefulness of her life. She feared she was wasting her potential by being a devoted wife and mother.  She wondered if the time and energy she invested in her husband and children would make a difference.

At times she got discouraged because so much of what she did seemed to go unnoticed and unappreciated. "Is it worth it?, she often questioned.  "Is there something better that I could be doing with my time?"

It was during these moments that she heard the still, small voice of her heavenly Father speak to her heart.

"You are are a wife and mother because that is what I've called you to be.  Much of what you do is hidden from the public eye.  But I notice.  Most of what you give is done without payment.  But I am your reward.

Your husband cannot be the man I have called him to be without your support.  Your influence on him is greater than you think and more powerful than you will ever know.  I bless him through your service and honor him through your love.

Your children are precious to Me- even more precious than they are to you.  I have entrusted them to your care to raise for Me.  What you invest in them is an offering to Me.

You may never be in the public spotlight, but your obedience shines as bright light before Me.

Remember you are my servant .  Do all to please Me.  Continue On."

Carly {7 months}

This sweet girl is 7 months old.  Oh my, how time is flying.  She is officially mobile.  She does this really cute army crawl, not quite up on hands and knees yet.  She has pulled herself up on the fireplace a few times and wants to be where the action is.

At her 6.5 month check up she was 14lbs 6 oz and 25 inches, about the 20th%. Almost exactly the same weight as Alyssa but 1.5 inches shorter.

She is eating solids like a champ.  I'm doing a modified baby-led weaning.  She eats most food by herself, but I do some purees and help her when I don't want a HUGE mess.  It's going well and I'm hoping to avoid the aversion to fruits and veggies and pickiness that we've had with Mason.

We are still having issues with sleep, but she does give me some good nights here and there.

We love you, sweet baby!

Mason's painting

When Alyssa was 2 1/2 I had her paint a picture to hang in her room. It turned out really cute and she still has it in her room. So I thought I'd try it with Mason too.

He was excited and was very careful at first, but got crazier at the end :)

The finished product.

Proud little buddy.  I love that is has his handprint on it.
