Last Day of Kindergarten, Kindergarten Graduation and 1/2 Birthday

May 22 was Alyssa's last day of Kindergarten.  I was more sad on her last day than on her first day.  Kindergarten still seems little to me. She only went to school 4 half days a week, so I was still with ther a lot. 1st grade is definitely big. She will be gone all day everyday.  It will be a big adjustment, for me anyway!  Alyssa is so excited for 1st grade!

Her class did a performance of all the poems and songs they learned.  They learned so much!

                                                              Getting her 'diploma'

Alyssa had the BEST teachers!  We will miss them so much.

Alyssa had such a great year!

Alyssa's half birthday just happened to be on the last day of school.  We haven't really done 1/2 bdays before, but it seemed fitting to celebrate it with her last day of school. Yummy Fargo's cake!

Well I'm glad I got that posted before school starts again in a week!

The Dominican Republic

Oh man, its hard looking at all these pictures 3 months later!  The DR was so fun and relaxing.  It was a great 10 year anniversary trip (a little early).

Lovely accomadations, although this picture isn't the greatest.  We had a jacuzzi tub that our butler (yes we had a butler:) had ready for us at the end of the day. Wonderful.

Beautiful beach.  White sand and turquoise waters.

Our horseback riding adventure.  It was fun, but we were so sore for days after!

Our guide was getting a little nervous at how far my horse was going :)

                                                                       Coconuts!

The food was pretty good, nothing amazing.  But the drinks were great!

Nate is very proud of this picture.  He had to perfect the beach in the sunglasses shot.

                                                               Some local shopping.

Our little spot. We sat here everyday.  It was at the very edge of the resort and we had this cool palm tree.  We sat here for a few hours everyday and read, and had some drinks.

We got this on the first try.  The other attempts weren't so good.  But we got one!

This was the spa.  We went everyday after the beach.  We went through this procees of cold showers, sauna, therapy jets, a 50 degree cold plunge pool (Nate loved this, I thought it was awful! It hurt!) walking on stones and finally the hot tub.  It was so relaxing.  I wish I could do it right now.

The last night they had a Michael Jackson show and it was really good! The Michael Jackson impersonator had all his mannerisms and moves down really well.

It was a great trip.  We feel very blessed that we had the opportunity to go.  The next few years mean more deployments, more of Nate being gone.  It's nice to have a chance to get away and spend some quality time together.  Until next time DR!

Mason's 3rd Birthday

Mason had a Cars birthday again this year.  He actually wanted a Chick birthday (one of the cars in the Cars movie) but that was impossible to find.  I printed a few pictures of Chick to hang up and made him a Chick water bottle.  He seemed to be satisfied, whew! He talked about his Chick party for months!

The kids had a treasure hunt in the sand box, which was a hit. No pictures :(  And then they played hopscotch for a while.  That was pretty cute.

Then we had pin the number on McQueen.  The kids really liked the games.  I wasn't sure what to expect with kids 3 and under.

Mason's cake! I got the idea on pinterest and was really happy with how it turned out.  Mason got his Chick car (green one) on the cake and he was thrilled.  He was so excited he didn't even have any cake!

We got Mason a strider bike.  He likes it so far.  I'm sure he will get the hang of it this summer.

Carly's First Birthday Party

My baby girl is one.  She had fun at her little party, but was little overwhelmed at times.  She was just getting over being sick and wasn't quite herself.

She started walking a week or so before her birthday.

 She loved the balloons.

 She loves sitting on chairs.

She really didn't want to go back in her highcahir after dinner....

but the cake was pretty yummy.

 Getting Mommy messy

 Time for presents!

Carly wasn't that into opening her presents, but her brother and sister were happy to help.

We had a great night celebrating our baby girl.  What a blessing she is to our family!
